Ragged Rope Filework

The Side of the Handle is Gray to Pale, no blue.

This Lockback folder has a hollow ground blade of CPM-S30V super stainless steel at .110 " X .750" X  3.0" inches.  The closed size is 4.0" and the total open length is 7.0".  The blade has been heat treated in house and triple tempered  including a sub-zero treatment to a Rockwell hardness of ~Rc of 60.  The spine has my hand file work in a ragged/drunk  rope pattern.  The stabilized California Buckeye Burl was stabilized by me and is my first folder using stabilized wood, worked great.  The scales are dovetailed into 416 stainless steel bolsters in the front and capped at the rear with the same steel.  The pins and liners are also stainless steel.  It comes with a hand-sewn pouch for belt carry.

COFFIN LOCKBACK FOLDER

This Coffin style 3" lockback folder has a blade of .097" X .625" X 3.0" of Crucible super steel CPM-S30V.  It has been heat treated and triple tempered with a sub-zero quench by me.  It is hollow ground and has a brush finished master bevel.  The front 416 stainless steel bolster has been dovetailed to accept Curly Maple wood scales for silver wire inlay.  The rear  bolster is also 416 stainless steel.  The Curly Maple has my silver wire inlay of .999% silver only on the top side of the coffin shape, similar to a real casket/coffin.  The hand file work is done in an Ivy Vine pattern and is hand filed by me ...no Dremel tool used.  The handle after being inlaid with silver ribbon has been stabilized with a home built, by me, system  using a dry vacuum and heat curing.  This is a first using this type of total stabilization after the silver ribbon has been inlaid........ maybe world wide.
